Summer Scholars blog #1

1. What was most encouraging and motivating to you and why? Being in a college environment, especially experiencing the commuting aspect of it, helped me understand what I am about to go through after my senior year. It encouraged me to not be afraid of the future and motivated me to do my best to gain as many scholarships as possible, so that I can procure the best possible life for myself in college.
2. What was the most challenging and why? The challenge course the last day of our living in the dorms was very nerve-wracking, because we had to do it by ourselves, without the help of our fellow teammates. It challenged me to gain confidence and not be afraid to take chances.
3. What did you learn about yourself? Describe the experiences that led you to this new information about yourself. I learned that I can take the lead in a debate over something I believe in. In philosophy we have a study group that have a varying range of opinions, and I experienced their views and shared my own.
4. What experiences have made a difference or have had a positive impact on you and why? Realizing what college is like has made a difference in how I will choose what the next four plus years of my life will be like, and has helped me to look at this opportunity positively. It defenitely has had a huge impact on what my life and I look forward to the transition from high school to college.
